Therapy for Gay Men
Finding yourself is one thing. Finding where you belong is another.
Being a gay man can mean spending years navigating expectations about who you should be, both from society and within the gay community itself.
You may have built a fulfilling life on the outside, yet continue struggling with loneliness, intimacy, self-worth, or belonging.
Understanding who you are doesn't always mean feeling comfortable being yourself.
Beyond Identity. Toward Authenticity.
My work with gay men goes beyond sexual identity to explore how your experiences have shaped your relationships, beliefs, and sense of self.
Together, we may explore:
Identity and authenticity: Discovering who you are beyond internalized expectations.
Relationships and intimacy: Understanding patterns involving attachment, vulnerability, and connection.
Belonging and community: Navigating loneliness, rejection, and finding your place within the gay community.
Shame and self-worth: Exploring beliefs shaped by past experiences and societal expectations.
Sex and dating: Understanding the relationship between physical intimacy, emotional connection, and vulnerability.
Life transitions: Navigating coming out, aging, changing relationships, and personal growth.
Creating Change Beyond Understanding
My approach is attachment-informed, relational, and collaborative. Rather than simply changing unwanted behaviors, we'll explore how they developed, what they've protected you from, and whether they're still serving you.
Together, we'll work toward greater emotional flexibility, self-trust, and the ability to connect with yourself and others more authentically.
The goal isn't to become someone different. It's to feel more connected to who you already are.
You Don't Have to Figure It All Out Alone
As a gay man myself, I understand that finding acceptance, connection, and belonging can be complicated, even within our own community.
Therapy offers space to explore these experiences without judgment, challenge beliefs that no longer serve you, and develop a more authentic relationship with yourself and others.
You deserve more than a life that looks fulfilling. You deserve one that feels fulfilling.
If you're ready to explore what that might look like, I invite you to schedule a consultation.
